Later, she continued to teach elementary classes at the Varnum School for many years, until she retired in 1986. Elaine enjoyed traveling the world with Peter, spending summers at the beach with family, and going on shopping sprees with her sister. She was also a fabulous cook who enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family. A dog lover, she enjoyed caring for her spunky Pekingese dog, Tisha. She was a loving, dedicated mother to her four adopted children, a devoted wife, and a beloved teacher, who will always be remembered for living her all too short life with remarkable grace and dignity.
