DRACUT- Harvey R. LaBrie Jr., 81, died Tuesday, December 3rd at Lowell General Hospital, after a prolonged period of declining health with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Rita E. LaBrie, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage.
Harvey was born in Lowell on September 13, 1932, a son of the late Mary (Lepore) and Harvey LaBrie, Sr. He received his education in Lowell and was a graduate of Lowell High School, class of
Harvey was a proud decorated US Marine Veteran who actively participated in the Korean Conflict.
After his honorable discharge, Harvey was employed as a lithographer and worked as a Foreman at Prince Packaging in Lowell and Admiral Box in Methuen.
He was dedicated to his family and received his greatest pleasure spending time with his four grandchildren. His strength, courage, determination, and personal resolve were the greatest gifts to those he leaves behind.
Harvey loved all sports, gardening, and had a passion for great food, especially Italian fare.
He taught all who knew him great lessons in perseverance and will be deeply missed by all those who loved and knew him.
In addition to his loving wife Rita, he is survived and will be deeply missed by his children, Michael H. LaBrie and his wife Jane (Fadden) LaBrie, Gail (LaBrie) Nawn and her husband Theodore A. Nawn, four grandchildren, Melissa A. Nawn, Michael R. LaBrie, Ashley M. Nawn, and Kristen A. LaBrie, all of Dracut; and his mother-in-law Claire Sosnonwy of Dracut.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut on Thursday December 5th from 4 until 7 PM. His Funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Friday, December 6th at 8 AM followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis Church in Dracut at 9 AM. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford.
